The Trent Rivers Trust is looking for a Senior Catchment Manager East (Maternity Cover)

This role is for someone who is passionate about the environment, loves working with rivers and who wants to design, manage and implement projects that benefit people and wildlife. Applicants will have exceptional project management skills gained in the environmental sector, strong commercial acumen and a flair for partnership working.

Job Title: Senior Catchment Manager East (SCM) Maternity Cover
Job Location: Trent East – with a focus on the Soar, Lower Trent and Erewash and Idle and Torne catchments
Salary and terms: Full-time, fixed term to end July 2022. Starting salary: £35,790 FTE 
Reporting to: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Purpose: To identify, develop and manage TRT activity in the specified catchments within the Trent catchment area. To use specialist knowledge for the benefit of projects across the whole Trent Catchment.

The Role

The Senior Catchment Manager East (SCM) will continue our work engaging with a range of partners and stakeholders to develop opportunities for project delivery for The Trent Rivers Trust in the specified catchments. They will raise the profile of TRT within this area, demonstrating why TRT is the ‘go to’ organisation for the delivery of projects relating to river catchment restoration and enhancement and associated projects in line with the charity’s key work areas.

The role will provide a co-ordinated approach to TRT project delivery in the catchment. It will develop and expand the activities undertaken by TRT within this area, made possible through obtaining increased funding from diverse sources.

A key area of the role is project delivery and its management. This means ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with agreed timescales and within budget by a motivated and efficient team, resulting in a wide range of benefits for the river environment and the wider catchment.

The role will also contribute to a raised awareness of issues affecting the health of rivers and their catchments amongst stakeholders and members of the public as a result of engagement, educational and communications activities.
