We are looking for an innovative People & Wildlife Officer, to lead on the delivery of a variety of nature-related projects to engage communities and businesses, striving to make more space for wildlife and connect people with nature across the Avon area.
This role encompasses several short-term projects, including a project delivering green care interventions, supporting people with mental-health conditions. As we finalise our ambitious new 10-year strategy to enable nature’s recovery on a grand scale, we are now working on exciting plans to engage more people than ever to take action to bring back and manage more land for wildlife. You will support in the development of these plans and need to be ready to adapt and deliver new approaches and ideas.
We are looking for someone with a track record in delivering nature-related community engagement activities. You will have a good understanding of nature conservation principles and practice, as well as a commitment to Avon Wildlife Trust’s strategy.
Avon Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK. With the invaluable support of our volunteers, members and corporate supporters we manage 30 nature reserves for wildlife and people across the West of England. We also work with other organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the region and inspire local communities and people of all ages to care for wildlife where they live.
