Auditing inclusive cycling across Liverpool City Region, co-ordinating current provision and creating new opportunities for people of all abilities to cycle.
From May 2021 to April 2022

This exciting role will focus on supporting the existing inclusive cycling programmes across the Liverpool City Region, and through excellent partnership work create cycling opportunities, and therefore enable more people to be active on their terms. Working alongside partners from Merseytravel, all six local authorities, public health, disability services and the existing inclusive cycling network across Liverpool City Region. We will create and deliver a regular inclusive cycling offer for children, adults and the elderly recovering from ill health and those living with a disability and creating a support programme for their families and friends.
There is already a range of inclusive cycling activities across the region, but through the Covid Pandemic we have understood the pressing need for disabled people to be active, and the challenges and concerns that many disability services and support groups have encountered, when supporting people in their care.
Our aim is to give everyone regardless of ability the chance to cycle, giving guidance and training to their support networks so that they too can be involved in delivery, and enjoy the benefits of cycling.
As the post holder, you will be responsible for the development of an effective inclusive cycling offer, working in close partnership with a broad range of partners and support networks, that becomes an asset for the communities of the Liverpool City Region.
You will be responsible for overseeing the current delivery of the inclusive cycling sessions, managing a growing network of partners and recruiting and retaining volunteers to support the project across the Liverpool City Region. You will be a highly motivated individual with experience of working across a broad section of partners. You will ideally have experience of managing community projects, working with disabled and inactive people. We require someone who is able to make a difference to people’s lives through inclusive cycling activities.
