About the Role

We are looking for an Engineer who is passionate about sustainability to join our Network Development Team in designing and delivering outstanding walking and cycling infrastructure.

Your role will see you developing and improving the National Cycle Network and Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans through our “Paths for Everyone” and “Liveable Towns and Cities” programmes as we seek to develop and upgrade high quality traffic free routes and work with local communities to encourage greater active travel.

About You

We are looking for a talented Engineer with a highways background.

You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of urban design principles and a holistic approach to street design.

In return we can support you to develop new skills and give you the freedom to express yourself creatively. We can offer you genuine flexibility around working patterns. We embrace values-driven and inclusive leadership and we listen and make time for innovation through our people-centred culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team where you can make a big impact and where we value the contribution and expertise of everyone.

Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.

We actively encourage applications from people from all parts of the community, particularly where we are under-represented. Currently, this includes people who identify as having a disability, and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.

Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9am on Wednesday 26th May 2021. Interviews will take place via MS Teams during week commencing 9th June 2021.

Should Sustrans receive an overwhelming number of applications for this vacancy, the decision may be taken to close it earlier than the advertised closing date, so please ensure your application is submitted as soon as possible.
